About the Artist

Court Jones works as a freelance illustrator and caricature artist in San Diego, California. He received his degree in Studio Art from the University of California, San Diego in 1996. That same year, he began working as a caricature artist in theme parks. Court was additionally trained at the Watts Atelier of the Arts in San Diego, where he learned traditional drawing and painting techniques.  After two years of learning, Court became a teacher at the Watts Atelier for another 10 years.

Court is a long time member of the International Society of Caricature Artists (ISCA). In 2005, he won Caricature Artist of the Year at the annual convention. In 2011, he was named Master Caricature Artist of the Year. In 2010, the Society of Professional Journalists, San Diego Chapter awarded him First Place for Original Illustration, and also Best in Show for the "Newspaper Design, Photography and Headlines" division. He has also won numerous awards for his traditional oil portraits.

Court combines his traditional art training with his caricature knowledge to create humorous portraits and illustrations which are painted with a high degree of realism. He worked as an animation background painter on the Disney film "Disenchanted" (2022). He was also the lead character designer on the game "No One Is Safe" by Liithos Co. When not doing commercial illustrations or privately commissioned paintings in the studio, he draws live digital caricatures at events. For those interested in learning how to improve their own caricature skills, Court created an online course which is available on the Proko YouTube channel or at Proko.com.
