Oil Commissions

I have been painting in oils since about 1990. It is my absolute favorite medium in which to work. Nothing can beat the look and feel of oil paints on a linen canvas. It is one of the most elegant and archival art mediums as well as one of the most flexible.

 

Oils are capable of fine details and realism or bold abstract applications and everything in between. My formal training in oil painting at the Watts Atelier of the Arts led me to a style I like to call 'impressionistic realism,' where the overall effect is realistic but is flavored with bold alla prima style brushwork.
